Working on a class project on food security? Looking for resources to set up a community garden in your community? Craving a more in depth look at issues surrounding global food systems? Want to learn how other campuses are organizing on local food projects and propose a self-directed project with us? The Resource Centre is the right place for you!
The Local Food Guide features:
- Why Local? - Resources for a more in depth look at issues such as genetic modification, peak oil and food supplies, global food systems and hunger, monocrop agriculture vs. biodiversity, and documentaries featuring perspectives from farmers.
- Where to Get Local Food - A new directory for where to get local food direct from farmers, CSA, markets, and more!
- Grow it Yourself - Dig in and get your hands dirty! One of the best ways to get local food is to grow your own!
- Local Organizations – Our community is hopping with fantastic organizations working on food issues from food security to connecting you to your farmers. This is a directory of local food and environmental organizations that you can get involved in.
- Campus Tool Kits - This is the place for anyone looking to get more local food on their campus!
- Recipes - Once you have all this tasty food, what are you going to do with it?
