Vendor Profiles
2010 vendors include:
Fresh Produce:
- Cropthorne Farm: A one acre natural veggie farm that doesn’t use GMO seeds, pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Instead they work with Mother Nature using low input methods. Almost everything is done by hand and their veggies are picked at their peak!
- Two EE’s Organic Farm: Two EE’s Organic Produce Ltd. is a 25 acre certified organic vegetable farm located on the border of Surrey and Langley. An often asked question is: where did Two EE’s Farm get its name from? This goes way back to before World War II, when Emil & Elizabeth Kowalski began working the plot of land as a dairy farm and fruit stand. They came up with the name by using the first initials of their names. They sold their own milk, apples and daffodils to the local people. Even the bus stop on the Trans Canada Highway (now the Fraser Highway) was called the Two EE’s!
- Skeeter Farm: A new farm run largely by youth who quit their day jobs to give back to the Earth. The farm grows a plethora of delectable vegetables on 14 acres of farmland along the Sumas River in Abbotsford. It is owned by the City of Abbotsford who has graciously leased it to allow new farmers to start their businesses. See their blog to follow their farming adventures!
