Since 2000, EYA has been working with volunteers and interns in the Youth Garden and Means of Production garden to plant heritage vegetable, flowers and herbs and save their seeds for re-distribution in the community.
Vancouver Plant & Seed Exchange Network

City of Vancouver Community Gardens
Contains contact information for current Vancouver community gardens and resources for starting new community gardens.
UBC Farm
The great work that happens at the UBC Farm is made possible by the continued support of our dedicated volunteers. Most volunteering at the farm happens during the main growing season from April to October, and interested folks are encouraged to attend an orientation session to find out more.
Edible Garden Project
The Edible Garden Project encourages people to get involved with growing and eating local foods, and to share home produce with food banks and those in need.
Vancouver Community Agriculture Network (VCAN)
The Vancouver Community Agriculture Network (VCAN) helps low income people and other groups start and manage community gardens and advocates for policies supporting urban agriculture. They provide education and consultation on how to grow food in the city organically.
Environmental Youth Alliance – Vancouver Urban Agriculture
The goal of this division is to bring urban youth into closer contact with natural spaces and food production. Through our programs we work with children, youth and adults in parks, schools, and gardens to create spaces to learn about and appreciate nature.
The Vancouver Fruit Tree Project
The Vancouver Fruit Tree Project is a community-based, registered charity that works to increase access to fresh local fruit in communities throughout Vancouver. We connect people who have fruit trees, people who can help harvest fruit, and community groups that distribute the fruit or use it in their programs.
Richmond Fruit Tree Sharing Project
The Richmond Fruit Tree Sharing Project connects volunteers with growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables for our neighbours in need.
